Tanzania: Who We Are
About Us
Global Programs Tanzania works in both Mainland and Zanzibar with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, with the support of PEPFAR an CDC Tanzania, to provide training, technical expertise, and long-term capacity building to improve HIV prevention and care programs, electronic data systems, disease surveillance, and the ability to use data to guide program planning, program improvement, and allocation of resources.
We provide training, mentorship, and technical assistance to build capacity in epidemiologic surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, health information systems, improving data quality and increasing data use, data science, and applied public health research among health ministries and local partners.
In addition, our informatics team develops and supports analytics applications, data information systems, and data visualization dashboards that make critical program analyses, performance indicators, and data quality issues available and easily accessible to key stakeholders.
History
UCSF has been providing strategic information technical assistance to CDC Tanzania and the National AIDS, STI, and Hepatitis Control Programme (NASHCoP) since 2008.
While monitoring, evaluation, and surveillance have always been the backbone of UCSF’s work in Tanzania, our office has grown to include a strong informatics team of HIS developers, analysts, and officers to support PEPFAR, CDC, and national HIV information systems and improve access to, analysis, and use of routine data.
