The METS II project established a coordinated and effective national and district systems for managing strategic information in Uganda’s HIV response. METS II provided technical oversight and support to strengthen the Health Management Information System (HMIS) in Uganda, focusing on electronic medical record systems and reporting through District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2), which is a free, open-source software platform for collecting, analyzing, and sharing data. The goal was to collect and report timely, accurate data to guide healthcare programming and management.​
